details : magic coin jacket

Briar's coin jacket is such a magical piece, as is the story that goes with it.  She really radiates such great energy...I feel like the magical Briar and the magical jacket found each other!

downtown chic, brooklyn flea

Leslie's advise on personal fashion is my favorite quote thus far on Style Rat: "You have to just use your eye, and you have to trust your body... and make it so personal that you can kind of breath it... so that you have your choices in your closet, and you can do it with your eyes closed... because you know that everything is going to more or less fit and look good."

Leslie has a gift in picking timeless elegant silhouettes that will wear well over time. Even though her style can be seen as classic, Leslie's personal touches make her outfit so original. I love the "boyish" androgyny she adds to the look; a true downtown girl.

groovy, chelsea

Emily's dreamy 1960s look is so perfect; from her makeup to her amazing vintage purse. Really love the burnt carmel color of her coat as well.

Her collection of vintage pieces make her outfits inspiring, not to mention one of a kind! Check out more of her styling ideas HERE.

details : equestrian bolo

Hellure! I am looking to add a bit more variety on this bloggityblog. Sometimes people have on one really great statement piece of interest. That's not to say their whole outfit is not fantastic, it is! But if there is a super special piece, I think it's nice to give it the attention it deserves. These will be "detail" segment videos. What do you think?

Emma Cooper's equestrian bolo is so wonderful... I'm a Texas transplant (don't y'all judge.); really partial to the whole Southwest vibe. This bolo could go well with turquoise jewelry, for a Ali Macgraw 2012 look.

Love the way she speaks about her mother and grandmother as fashion influences (and life influences). "she was very chic, and wore lots of black turtle necks, and pearls, and espadrilles." So cool.

Emma is an artist studying at SVA, check out her website HERE.

elegance, the high line

Oh hello, I'm not dead. This blog has been on a serious hiatus, but I'm glad to start posting again!

Elegance, like style, is something you have or something you don't. Voon's 1920s style is the epitome of elegance. Beyond that, i love that he totally embodies his swing dancing craft!

breathless, union square

I still watch for people to shoot even when grocery shopping. Unfortunately the lighting in grocery stores is a drag (apologies!).
I really love Erina's outfit. It is very Jean Seberg in Breathless... but really, this is the Winter version.

Non English speakers are just as welcome on this blog as those who are fluent (I need to learn Japanese, French, etc.!), so this is more of a collage than interview...body language is half of language anyway.

Erina works for the Japanese boutique, Edit For Lulu.
